It’s true: during her four-year tenure as Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton traveled to Iraq only once, flying into Baghdad for a surprise visit in April 2009. Iraq was just one of 112 countries Clinton visited, setting a record for the nation’s top diplomatic post.

Although Clinton herself visited only once, Vice President Joe Biden and Defense Secretary Robert Gates made several stops in Iraq leading up to the U.S.’s 2011 withdrawal.
